I wish to offer my condolences to Judy and her family for their loss.
Like Don I worked in the City of Hamilton's Engineering Dept. as a surveyor.
I started in the roads section in 1960 getting information on the site so contractors could build Sewers, water-mains and roads. I like Don started in this business by working for private Survey companies. Don worked for Sidney Woods Surveyors and I with McKay McKay & Peters Surveyors. I gave the nick name "Sid"to Don every time we met because who he worked for. I appreciated Don inviting me to join the Engineering group for lunch at the Mandarin. I had left the city in 1970 to work for a private contractor so that is the way Don was as he organized the lunch twice a year. He had a great sense of humour and I enjoyed being around him I always looked forward so see him and Judy at the lunches.
At the service at the cemetery I related to Judy that Don told me about the house they bought near Westmount High School and the previous owner took all the light bulbs, so he had to go and buy new ones. It was nice to see her laugh about that memory.
He was a wonderful man that we all will miss.

It is with the deepest regret and sadness in learning of the passing of my dear friend Don whom I have known for many years. Having worked with Don at City Hall Hamilton and recalling our times together in our younger years, it was such a joy to be in his company. No one will forget his keen sense of humor, quick wit that delighted so many. To Judy, Jodi, Leah and families, may you be always reminded of his kind and caring nature and his love of life and especially his family whom he cherished so much. May God grant you His Peace and Grace during this time of personal loss.
