Dear Robert and all family,
Your mother has been on my mind this last while, I googled and found this. While it is almost a year later, I do hope you are reading this now. It is such a long time ago; so much water under the bridge, but I remember you, Robert coming to visit my ex and me in Strathroy at Christmas one year and I always thought of you a bit like a son to me. I am now an Anglican priest as is my husband, Harold. We have just returned to Ontario (in Ridgetown) after eight and a half years in Newfoundland. Your mother was always kind to be - tried to teach me to make bread ; bless her heart - it couldn't be done! And she got in touch with me (and Stuart) although we were not together, at the time of my daughter Teri's death. It meant a lot.
I hope all is well with you and your family. You were truly blessed to have the parents that you did.
Peace,
Marlene

May you be blessed by fond memories of happy times, and the knowledge of God's comfort. Verlyn and Ray were great supporters of my husband Jack's ministry during the three years that he was privileged to serve at A.C. United Church.

To Verlyn's Famirly,
I remember Verlyn from the first Sunday we attended the United Church when we moved to Ailsa Craig. She and Ray were always such a striking couple and always had a smile for everyone they met.
Over the years we saw them at many functions and anything that was going on in Ailsa Craig or neighbouring communities they would be there.
After Ray passed away Verlyn continued to be a huge part of her community and be involved in everything.
Now they are together again and catching up on the time they have spent apart.
Treasure their memories and hold them close to your hearts where they will both always remain and remember that LOVE never dies.
Sincerely,
Edward and Linda

Roger, I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing. What an awesome lady. Verlyn and I became friends when we worked together for Elections Canada over 30 years ago. It always came through loud and clear how much she loved her family. I also remember her untiring efforts on behalf of her church and the Ailsa Craig community. I will really miss her. It grieves me that we are away and cannot attend this week. May your many fond memories uphold you and Robert and the whole family this week and into the future.

It is hard to imagine a few words on a page or a screen that can convey what a wonderful person Verlyn Campbell was and how lucky we were to have had the chance to know her in this lifetime. Verlyn was a woman who made the world a better place. My summers spent at the Campbell farm as a teen are among the happiest memories of my life. I know there are many others like me whose lives she impacted in a truly positive way. She combined elegance and authority with generosity, kindness and humour. Together, Ray and Verlyn were a formidable couple and I cherished my time in their loving home. Verlyn was a role model and a friend and my heart breaks to think I will not see her again in this life. With deepest sympathy to all who are feeling this loss, and Rob and Roger in particular.
