Obituary of Roy Gill
Peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Roy Gill of Strathroy passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2004, in his 74th year. Caring son of Edith Gill of Port Elgin. Beloved husband and partner of Margaret (nee Van Grinsven). Loving and devoted father of Gayle (Bill) Blackmore of Cambridge, Nicole Gill (Darren) Waukey of Strathroy and Rodney at home. Cherished grandfather of Kim (Kevin) MacDougall and Scott Blackmore all of Cambridge, Riley, Herizon and Lia from Strathroy and great-grandfather to Joshua and Hope MacDougall from Cambridge. Dear brother of Harold (Joyce) of Simcoe, Bernie (Karen) of Port Elgin and (Lois) of Cambridge. Predeceased by his father Carmen and brother Bob. Loving son-in-law to Tiny Van Grinsven of Strathroy. Respected brother-in-law of Mary and Mark Laskey, Murray and Tammy Van Grinsven, Angela and Arno Janssen and Teresa and Ron Fischtner all of Strathroy. Friends and relatives will be received at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe Street West, Strathroy on Sunday, March 28 from 7-9 P.M. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service will be held from the Strathroy United Church, Front Street West on Tuesday, March 30 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Charles Seed officiating assisted by Rev. Jock Tolmay. Cremation with interment of ashes in Strathroy Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.
