Obituary of Leonardo Lopes

Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2006, surrounded by his family. Mr. Leonardo Tavares Lopes in his 61st year. Born in Sao Miguel, Acores, he was the son of Maria dos Anjos Tavares and the late Jose Tavares Pereira Lopes. Beloved husband of Maria de Lourdes Sousa (Remedios) Lopes. Loving father of Ana-Paula Matthews (Christopher) of Maple and Sandra Varao (David) of London. Devoted grandfather of Laura Marie Matthews. Loving brother of Joao Luis Pereira, Jeremias Lopes, Francisco Lopes, Fatima Pereira, Ricardo Lopes, Libeirio Lopes, Carlos Pereira, Hermano Lopes, Antonio Peneira and Eduardo Lopes. Best friend and "brother" of Frank Fraser. Sadly missed by his siblings' spouses, his godchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitors will be received on Wednesday, January 18 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 11:00 am at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, 124 Front Street, Strathroy, with Father John Sharp officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery, Strathroy. Prayers will be said Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm.
