Obituary of Jan Spoelstra

Peacefully at Strathroy General Hospital on Monday, January 14, 2008, Jan Spoelstra in his 75th year, went to be with the Lord just after midnight. Survived by his loving wife Tina. Loving father of Andy & Penny Spoelstra of St. Thomas, Kathleen & Mark Clark of Townsend and Martin & Debbie Spoelstra of St. Thomas. Loving grandfather of Janis, Ashley (Steve), Christina (Greg), Jonathan, Andrea and Mackenzie. Great grandfather of Leeanne and Andrew. Missed by his sister and brother in law Toni & Martin Speelman. Jan was a retired Sergeant of the London Police force, a founding member of the First Christian Reformed Church in St. Thomas and a past member of the St. Thomas Male Crescendo Choir. A special thanks to all involved with Dad's care, the Paramed PSW's & VON nurses and other agencies involved. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy, on Wednesday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 p.m. Private family interment in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Thomas. A memorial service to celebrate Jan's life will be on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Westmount Christian Reformed Church, Strathroy at 2 p.m. In memory of Jan, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
