Obituary of Everett Smith

At Strathmere Lodge, on Tuesday January 22, 2008, Everett Mills (Spike) Smith, of Strathroy, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Betty (Waters), survived by sister Penny Watson of Windsor and brother Larry and his wife Jane Smith of Sarnia. Predeceased by his sister Margie Martinak (1991). Dear father of Sharon Clark and Dorlie of Strathroy, Dianne Butler and Bob of Goderich, Len Smith and Marta of Strathroy, and Lawrence Smith and Karen of Inwood. Dear stepfather of Bonnie Paquette and Dan of Val Caron and Elizabeth Forman and Andrew of Kerwood. Survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Everett served in the 1st Division of the R.C.R's (1942-1946). After Sicily/Italy campaign he joined the Provost Corps and took part in the liberation of Holland. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St. W, Strathroy on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1pm with Rev. Charles Seed officiating. Interment to follow in Strathroy Cemetery. In memory of Spike, donations may be made to the Strathroy Hospital or charity of choice.
