Obituary of Frank Maurise Joseph Vermunt
With great sadness we say goodbye to our brother, uncle, and friend on May 16, 2024. Frank passed away at the age of 62 on the family farm. Frank Maurise Joseph Vermunt was born in London on April 7, 1962, to the late Johanna (2022) and Bernard (2019) Vermunt. Brother to John (Laura) Vermunt, Elisabeth (Dave) Bond, Bernie (Ron) Davidson, Caroline (Pat) Van Kerrebroeck, Marlene Kelders (Dan), Connie Karsch (Keith), and Teresa (Paul) Herbert. Frank will be fondly remembered and missed by his 23 nieces and nephews and their families.
Frank was a talented hockey player who loved to joke, tease, and make people laugh with his great sense of humour. After attending North Middlesex District Highschool, Frank started working on the family farm, then began a 25 year career of driving a milk truck for Bluewater Milk Transport before returning to farming full time. Frank enjoyed his time at home, on the farm he grew up on, where he cared for his cows and his adored barn cats. He could talk for hours about farming, the weather, current events, and any other advice he could offer up about what was happening in our lives. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and the West Coast to visit family.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his honour to Parkinson’s Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
