Obituary of Edna Irene Clemance

Peacefully, at Bay Haven Nursing Home, Collingwood, ON, on Tuesday, February 20^th, 2024, Edna Irene Clemance (nee Hedley) at the age of 94 years and 10 months. 

Loving wife of the late William Robert “Bob” Clemance.  Cherished mother of Sharon and her husband Lavergne McLellan, Bev and his wife Lynda Clemance and Daryl Clemance and his wife Karen Gagnon.  Devoted grandmother of Carmen, Jeff and Shelly, Stephanie and the late Brett, and Jessica and Oliva, and 9 great-grandchildren and their families.  Predeceased by her siblings Bill, Don and Doris.   Edna was born in Lobo Township to Edwin and Winnifred Hedley on April 27, 1929. 

St. George’s Anglican Church and community was dear to her heart.  She was a member of the church for 74 years.  After cherishing the years of raising her children, Edna went to work for many years at Woolworths and Woolco.   Edna had many interests throughout her life which included her precious family time, knitting, church, and travel.  She resided in the Denfield, ON area for 35 years before relocating to Ilderton, ON for another 36 years. For the last 5 years of her life she has been living at Bay Haven Community Care in Collingwood, ON. 

Friends will be received at DENNINGS of AILSA CRAIG, 171 Ailsa Craig Main St., on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 12656 Thirteen Mile Rd., Denfield, ON, on Wednesday, February 28^th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Denfield, ON.  In Lieu of flowers, donations to St. George’s Anglican Church.
