Mark and I were friends for over 40 years. Back in the day, we would go on quit a few gravel runs. Always having a few pop's to keep us occupied. Both of us were huge Beatles fans, so no arguing over tunes, just shove in the tape and hope the deck didn't eat it which was not uncommon in those days. Always glad to have Mark drop in for a visit. The thing that always got me about Mark was that no matter how good or not so good things were the guy was always smiling! Sincerest condolences to all of Marks family. My uncle Mark was a good guy with a good, kind heart. When us Millar's down the road needed him, he was there to help us. That's why he was always welcome at our house. He was someone we were always happy to see drop by for a visit. He will be truly and greatly missed by us here.
We'll miss seeing him across the road on the farm or on the horse track. We'll miss his almost-daily phone calls or drop-in visits. His presence in our lives is something we will all miss.
More than family, parting ways with Mark is like losing a close friend/neighbour you knew your whole life who you really cared about and had experienced many good times with. He was always just a 30 second drive away, and we saw him basically daily. We'll always appreciate Mark's love for the family farm and our time spent together. We'll never forget him.
My personal favorite memories of Mark will be the times when he was smiling and laughing and I knew he was happy and enjoying life.
