On Saturday, November 5th, 2022, peacefully with family by his side, John passed and is now at rest. He is survived by his wife Ruth of 53 years, his children Michelle Joos (Steve), Kelly Miles (Larry), Shane (Christa) and Kerri Walsh (Jim), and his favourite 5 granddaughters; Nicole (Owen), Taylor (Luke), Amy (Matt), Amber and Ashley.  John is also survived by his sisters Audrey Mills (late Ross), Nancy Howald (late Earl), Deb Howald (late Duane Green) and Larry Du Charme (late Dorothy) along with in-laws Jean Ellis (Jim), Bob Mills (Marie), Bruce Mills (Shirley), Don Mills (Liz), Gord Mills (Sue) and Peg Mills and many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his beloved parents Lawerence and Mary, step-mother Ruth along with sisters Dorothy DuCharme, Donna Allen, mother and father in-law Marion and Kenneth Mills and brother in-law Melvin Howald.

John worked for Murphy Bus Lines for over 30 years, he made lots of connections with drivers and students.

As per John's wishes, there will be no formal visitation. A private funeral service will be held with a Celebration of Life to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at Craigwiel Gardens and Country Terrace for their compassion and care they provided for John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society and the Craigholme New Build. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG.
