So sorry to hear of Mert’s passing. Mert would drop in for a visit at our house from time to time. We enjoyed those visits with him. His last visit with us was July 3 /21.
We had a great visit talking about old times & different people we knew. Mert liked to share how he enjoyed visiting the grand children. Mert was a born again Christian & he loved the Lord. May God comfort the family at this difficult time. Love & prayers to the family.

Mert use to come and see my Dad (Grant Stephenson who is 90 and at home) the last time I went to town, and Mert stayed with Grant .. I said I will be about an hour ... it was more like three hours, but Mert was still there. My Dad told me today that Mert told him, I am praying that the Lord will take Mary Ann (Mert's wife in Strath. Lodge) my Dad said he didn't think much about it at the time.

We are so sorry about your loss. We really enjoyed, in pre-covid times, Uncle Meredith's visits, as we spent afternoons having tea and talking with him about family lore. He was a great historian and story-teller. We really looked forward to resuming these visits in the future. We will certainly miss him. We would love to pay our respects in person, but are still too soon after our vaccines to safely visit without fear of catching or spreading covid. Please accept, in absentia, our sincerest condolences.

So sorry to hear of Meredith's passing. Truly breaks my heart. He was the sweetest man. We always enjoyed visiting with Maryann and him. Fireside chats. We always had wonderful visits when they would park their camper at our house for a time in-between camp site dates. He would call just to make sure all was well at the Cox home. My deepest sympathy to the Charlton family. Remembering the last 50 years. Mert was my mentor and instructor when I began my career with Ontario Hydro. We enjoyed many years working together and since retirement over a cup of coffee. The last time that we met, Mert indicated that he was ready and looking forward to the day when God decided to take him home. Taking comfort in the knowledge that he is now resting in the arms of his Lord.
