Obituary of Betty Joy O'Brien

With her family by her side, Betty Joy O’Brien (née Ropp) passed away on Saturday, July 13^th, 2019 at the age of 68. Loving mother of Jason (Heather) and Cory (Christy). Cherished Nana Buddy of Hanna, Emma, Jaiden and Ella. Survived by her brothers Brian (Jan) and Jerry (the late Doreen). Sister-in-law to Darlene. Betty will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Floyd and Gladys Ropp and brother John (2009).

Betty loved the things and people she enjoyed passionately; grandchildren, her sons & daughters(in law), the Blue Jays, her dog Laddie, politics, books and woodworking. Known for her strong intellect, sense of humor and ability to defend herself and others when she saw injustice. 

Betty and her family would like to thank everyone who helped with her care: Dr. Wagner, Nancy, Kristina and the entire palliative team. The amazing VON workers at Craigwiel Gardens - Lynn, Monica, Michelle, & Nancy. Thank you.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG on Saturday, July 20^th, 2019 from 12p.m.-2 p.m. and 4p.m.-6 p.m. Reception to follow.
