Obituary of William Pierce

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William " Stewart" Pierce on Friday July 6, 2012 at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, in his 93rd year. Dearly loved husband of Faye (Galbraith) for 66 years. Treasured father and grandfather of Larry Pierce; Darlene and Wally Green and their children Nathan and Tonia Green; Adam and Robyn and Matthew; Rudy and Brendia Pierce and their children Andrew and Natalie; Herbie and Robyn Pierce; Rob and Wendy Pierce and their children Kathryn, Michael and Eric; Laurie and Phil Gowdy and their children Jessica and Melissa. Loving great grandpa of Kellan Green. Sadly missed by his sister Eunice Parker, sister-in-laws Gwen Pole and Juanita McKellar. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Stewart was born in Metcalfe Township, son of the late Henry and Vanessa Pierce. Predeceased by sisters Eleanor Condon, Margaret Pfeffer and brother-in-laws Alex Condon, Johnny Pfeffer, Leonard Pole, Howard Parker and Donald McKellar. Stewart loved his family, friends and his community. He enjoyed a good game of Euchre, Curling and time spent with friends at the Strathroy Seniors Centre. Friends will be received on Monday, July 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Inge Stahl officiating. Interment to follow in Cook's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Middlesex Health Alliance, Middlesex-Elgin V.O.N., Strathroy Seniors Centre, Strathmere Lodge Auxiliary-Memorial Fund or to a charity of your choice. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Stewart.
