Obituary of Pamela Washington
At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Friday, October 28, 2005, Pamela Mary Washington of Strathroy in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Donald Harvey Washington. Pamela emigrated to Canada as a War Bride in July of 1946. She established in the St. Marys/London, Ontario area until 1953, moving to Eganville, Ontario, the start of a 20 year trek to various Air Force assignments of her husband. During this period she had to establish homes, schooling etc. in Eganville/Foymount, Ontario, Windsor, Ontario, Ramsey, New Jersey, Moisie, Quebec, Battle Creek, Michigan, Syracuse, New York, North Bay, Ontario, Palm Bay, Florida and finally Strathroy in 1986. Pamela was an excellent mother who raised three boys; David, Donald and Paul in difficult circumstances of oft-times moves and different environments. That they excelled in their chosen professions is largely the result of her guidance. Her passions included: her family, especially her daughters-in-law; Gitta, Moira and Cyndy, her grandchildren; Matt, Peter, Shelly, Randy, Keith, Julie-Anne and Russell, her great-granddaughter Taylor-Page, and; cooking, shopping, traveling, bridge, reading and her dogs Lassie and Tic-Tac. Friends will be received at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St. W., Strathroy on Monday, October 31 from 6-9 PM where a complete funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 1 at 11 AM with Rev. Fr. Willi K.F. Kammerer officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Marys, Ontario. Donations to the Strathroy Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
