Obituary of Gordon Sutherland

Peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Craigwiel Gardens Nursing Home, A. Gordon Sutherland of Ailsa Craig in his 93rd year. Loving husband of the late Catherine I. Sutherland (nee Jickling). Beloved father of William (the late Mary) Sutherland of McGillivray Township, Jeanie (Murray) Lee of Exeter and Syd (the late June) Sutherland of Ailsa Craig. Dear grandfather of Murray (Lissette) Sutherland, Christine (Frank) Farkas, Carrie (Duncan) McLeish, Marsha (Terry) Vanderwal, Greg and Tim Sutherland. Survived by great-grandchildren Jacob, Tasha, Clayton, Alexander, Julianna, Jon and Pieter. Also Loved by brother Roy (Betty) Sutherland. Predeceased by Lloyd (Martha) Sutherland and Wilbur (Betty) Sutherland and Margaret (William) Dores. Friends will be received at T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm with Reverend David Mitchell officiating. Interment in Carlisle Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation for Diplexic Children or to the Ailsa Craig United Church memorial Fund. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 23rd at 6:30 pm under the direction of Craig Lodge # 574 AF & AM Grand Lodge of Ontario.
